I was blessed with this gorgeous antique sewing machine from our landlords Bell and Walter. They are selling her families home, which at one time held 12 children and 2 parents. The home was built in the 1920's and still carried pieces of furniture from that time. As they were cleaning out, her children and grandchildren were able to achieve whatever they most cherished. Since there was an abundance amount of furniture and art there was still some left for me to shift through. As we were walking through this architecturally beautiful home, with stories from every piece being told, there she was, just sitting there with the light ever so dimly shining down on her. It was like a light from heaven was peaking through the storms cloud. A stunning 1930's singer. Bell then told me how her sister loved to sew, she was a "sewing machine". She made all of her children's, nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildrens clothes. All while still having time to create all the tapestry in the home. I was like a child who just came down the stairs on Christmas morning. My eyes filled with hearts of excitement. Bell said, I know how creative you are and know how much you like clothes, so.. it's all yours. My eyes then filled up with tears and I accepted. I can only hope one day I will be able to create something as beautiful as her sister had.
Peace & Love,
