The RK Collection

THE STORY
Rachel Appel, the founder of RK, is a self-described accessories girl. Her collection of luxurious, edgy bags and leather accessories feature details like spikes and chains for a bold, industrial look. . "I have always believed that the accessories make the outfit,” says Appel. “They are the first thing that people notice and more than likely comment on, whether it be a great belt, a big bold piece of jewelry or an amazing embellished handbag, they set the mood if you will. They tell people a little about who you are.” - AHAlife

Well said Rachel! Thank you for creating these bad-ass clutches that make me swoon. :::sigh::: One day I will have you my pretty... one day.

Just a thought

Seriously though? The media has taken over our minds and portrayed that being anorexic is hot. I don't see the beauty in any of those bodies in the first row. To me it just looks like they are unhappy and starving (literally) for attention. I just want to give them a hug and cook them dinner. Here's to hoping that the future holds fit and healthy models to strut down the runways.

Coachella 2012

Coachella finally posted their line up for this year... and trust... it was worth the wait. I NEED to go, don't know how it will be possible, but it MUST happen. Are you with me people!?

Besides the obv good tunes, the fashion will be out of control (as always). Can't wait to see what everyone has up their sleeves. And, who will/won't turn it out this year. Here are some of my favorite's from last year. From maxi dress to studded boot to full on flower child, you all will always hold a special place in my heart. ::sighhh::

If you would like to buy me a ticket, by all means.. please do :)

J57 - Stand Out feat. Suri57

The boy who never ceases to amaze me has done it again. Only this time he took Suri along for the ride. Brooklyn MC/Producer J57 of the Brown Bag AllStars (and The Brooklynista's fiancé) takes us through his beat-making process, as well as discusses his group's approach to releasing music.

Shot & Cut by Jav Martinez (@TheJavMart) ThaReelness.Tumblr.com

Isn't she just the cutest little thing you have ever seen? God, I love her... Oh, and Jimmy too of course. PROUD!

P.S.- if you listen closely in the very beginning maybe first 1-2 seconds you can hear her little bark, sounds sort of like a record scratch. Lol.

Goulish & Glam & Green

This weekend we went back home to celebrate my best friend Jessica's 27th birthday. Jess n her husband were hosting a goulish & glam bash! Jimmy and I went back and forth for almost a month on what we were going to dress up as. Two days before the party and still no costume..Just like every year Jimmy and I think of our costumes the day of. We called jess to sing happy birthday n discuss the costume dilemma. She told us that they were going as hippies and that we should be part of the hippie commune. I was psyched about this for 2 reasons, I am a hippie at heart and second, I didn't have to spend any money! I am always reluctant to pay for a costume, a few trinkets.. Ok, but never a full costume. It is a waste of money and waste in general. Most Halloween costumes are thrown out after one simple wear. They then sit in landfills and never decompose. Instead of contributing to the mass waste check out your local thrift shop, there are plenty of great finds for ANY costume. Here's what you do: wear it, bob for some apples, go trick or treating, throw it in the laundry and then donate it!

My Hippie look, straight out of my closet:
Braided headband - Urban Outfitters
Robe - Hand me down from Jimmy's Mom
Tunic - Vintage
High-Waisted Jeans - Linda Loudermilk
Platforms - MIA
Clutch - vintage
All jewelry - a collection of from years and years
Sunglasses - Beacons Closet

HAPPY & SAFE HALLOWEEN TO ALL!!!!

What did you dress up as? Was it a DIY?

"The Analog Tape" by J57

It's your lucky day!! My handsome, extremely talented fiance' released his 2nd beat tape today!  It's title, "The Analog Tape". I have said it all before... (numerous times) how proud I am of him. He continuously has proven to me that hardwork, dedication, sacrifice, and passion will eventually lead to an outcome that can only be felt in your heart. Something so real that there are no adjectives can describe. A feeling of living and conquering your dreams. As he conquers this dream I feel the same joy. Only for me, its a feeling of gratitude and admiration. He is an incredible role model and I can only hope that my passion for fashion will amount to the same success in the later years. I love you Jimmy! Thank you for being you! Xoxo, Luff!

FWMJ'S Producers I Know Presents: J57 "The Analog Tape". "The Analog Tape" is a dirty, dusty early 90's sounding beat tape produced entirely by J57.

Free Download! Click HERE.

"Suri helped me greatly on this when she was just a baby pom.. most of the beats are from 07/08 but I re-vamped them and made it into 1 cohesive track ...like a mixtape." - J57

The Komera Project.

Join us at Kaight TONIGHT for a cocktail party and evening of conversation, education and shopping. We will be showing images from the Global Run for Komera, in which students, organizations, and individuals all over the world run in support of Komera Project Scholarships, and Kate Dillion will be on hand to discuss this incredible organization. We will also be selling limited-edition t-shirts designed by Caitlin Mociun - all proceeds go to Komera. Lastly, KAIGHT will be donating 20% of the evenings sales to Komera Scholarships. It's a great opportunity to check out some of our new fall arrivals and take advantage of our final summer mark-downs.

July, I heart you.

Wow, It's the middle of July already? June flew right past us as well as May. July is my absolute favorite month of the whole entire year. It holds a specail and dear place in my heart. There are plenty of reasons that contribute to this and here are my top 10;

One - I was born on July 10th.
Two - Suri's birthday is July 9th. (Birthday weekend!)
Three - 4th of July. Every year my family and I would go to my aunts house, have a bbq, drink plenty of margarita's, go in the pool and when nighttime rolls around we would watch the fireworks on the beach, and then sit around the barnfire singing. Good Times.
Four - My parents wedding anniversary is on the 7th. <3

Five - Jimmy proposed to me on my brithday :) It was 3rd anniversary of being engaged :)
Six - I can go swimming and layout on my hammock at my resort back in L.I. (aka jimmys parents house).
Seven - The rooftop parties at Adri & Kieths with Adri's AMAZING cooking!
Eight - The food, snacks and drinks.
Nine - Coney Island, beach party's with friends.
Ten - It's Summer time and the living is easy.

Good lord that took long to get all those pics in order... phewwww!
