Wow, I have been totally slacking on my blog game. Sorry guys. The reason behind it ..it's Summer and its my favorite time of year!! It's so beautiful out who wants to stay inside? I have been going out alot more and just enjoying life. I have been on a few mini vacay's (weekend getaways) and cant wait to tell u all about them.

As you read from a few posts earlier Jim and I went to Newport, R.I. to watch my beautiful best friend Jessica become Mrs. Coady <3 It was an amazing weekend. Beautiful ceremony and reception, cried tears of happiness, drank some delicious margaritas, boogied on the dance floor, ate some mouth watering food! Saw some scenic views that will be forever imprinted in my memories "happy place" and had conversations that lead to friendships that will last a lifetime.

After the wedding weekend I was back on the work grind and then some birthdays came up... whose you ask? oh, just lil ol' Suri and her mommy :)

The heat is arising but that doesn't mean you have to look a hotmess! There are plenty of ways to look cool while being cool. Ok, I will now cut myself off from saying corny one liners.. Anyway, there are plenty of pieces to wear with out sweating your patootie off. Such as, flowey cropped tanks, flowey skirts/shorts. Pretty much anything flowey brings a nice breeze and touch of elegance to your ensemble. Of course, anything mini. I mean come on sometimes you just want to go nude but unfortunately we are not in Europe. No belts! It makes you 10x's hotter than you already are and I don't mean that in the "your so hott! and I love it!" way. I mean it in the damn girl, go stand in front of a fan for 10 minutes way. Minimal, lightweight fabrics. Don't over accessories either.

Samantha Pleet is one of my favorite eco fashion designers. She is able to create pieces that a fashionista would want to wear; all with the plus side of it being eco friendly. By looking at her pieces you can't tell that they are eco.. until you read the garment tag. One thing I love is when you pick up a piece just becuase you like it, somehow it appeals to you. When you read the tag and find out it is made out of organic cotton/silk/vegetable dyed, you feel like you are doing your part in the world. Am I right? I don't do the whole crunchy granola bar "green" and neither does Samantha.

To me it is extremely important for a garment to have hanger appeal. All of Samantha's pieces have incredible hanger appeal and most of all body appeal. She is really in turn with the feminine body and I can appreciate that. Her creations are very whimsical, girlie, yet still classic. Vintage with a twist.

Just last week I started to actually get into this whole wedding thing. It was my first time EVER trying on a wedding dress. Oh my god the fun I had! It was amazing but obvi. it was something I never felt before and never will feel again. Although I didn't cry when I put the dresses on I did feel emotions. The emotion being.. take the god awful dress off of me! Most of the dresses I tried on were beautiful but for someone else. They looked good but not amazing. The was no WOW factor. I did find one that I love but I'm not IN love. I can't describe what it looks like because I am assuming jimmy does read the blog and that wouldn't be a good thing if he saw. (very f****n' superstitious... writings on the wall.. sorry I had to break out in song.) With that being said I will keep you posted on the dress hunt and if anyone knows of any great wedding sites or knows where an amazing lace gown is located please let me know ;)

In the meantime I will be attending on of my best friends wedding this weekend in Rhode Island. We have been best friends since high school and she was the one who introduced Jimmy and I when we were around 15.. ::awww:: She is one of the most beautiful girls I know and our bond is uncontrollable. We can go a year with out seeing one another and the day we do it is like we have never left each other. I love her with all my heart and I am honored to be in her bridal party! Can't wait to see my bride on sat... I love you Jess!! Congrats to you and Nick! XOXOXO Nick.. take care of my baby.
