OnlyHearts.

There are few things more decadent that a pair of sexy, organic skivvies. And now that temperatures are declining, is their anything more tantalizing that curling up on the couch in a pair of organic cotton PJ's and a cup of tea? That's why we're so grateful that one of our favorite NYC-based lingerie brands, Only Hearts, has begun offering their feminine lingerie in organic Pima cotton. The organic line includes the brand's signature panties and lace-trimmed thongs, as well as their fashion lingerie -- laced-edged camisoles and bodysuits that can be worn as "inner outwear." The Only Hearts line is designed and manufactured in New York City and we're so excited to be one of the first to showcase the brand's organic range.

Stop by to shop the collection and enjoy lite refreshments. Take home a scented drawer satchel with any purchase.

When: Nov. 13-14 @ Kaight: 382 Atlantic Ave., 718.858.4737.

It'sJustAJumpToTheLeft.

Halloween is almost here so I decided it would be best to get in the mood by watching a few Halloween incorporated movies. Jimmy and I always record Charlie Brown Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.. its our little tradition. So I watched that and then I decided it would only be right to finally have my first viewing of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". I freaking LOVED it! Bizarre, outlandish, and incredibly entertaining. Every Halloween we always had a costume party the day before and then went to fat beats the day of to watch the parade. This year non of those things are in my reach so I kinda fell off the band wagon with preparing a costume. Thanks to Rocky Horror I will look no further because I have found what I have been longing for. I MUST be Magenta! At first I wanted Jimmy and I to go as Brad and Janet. Once I thought further thought about it I realized this is my one chance to dress completely out of the ordinary and have crazy uncontrollable ginger locks. So MAGENTA IT IS! Jim can still be brad if he wants but we all know he would never dress up as Rif Raf and also obtaining that costume on a $0 dollar budget would be quite impossible..
So be prepared to see me as Magenta in plenty of pictures shortly!
And now I can't get this song out of my head! Now we all must sing together.. "Let's do the time warp aggggaaainnnn..."

Fahrenheit.

Good music is hard to come by these days with people like Ke$ha topping the charts. There are few out there that really incorporate the arts into their projects. It is not all about the money and the fame it's about being able to speak your mind, connecting with others, and sharing a god given gift. Music is a great getaway for one to slip out of their stressful everyday work routine and escape in the lyrics of the creative artist that are exposing either themselves or a character. Whether it is hip hop, country, or pop you are still in a trance and lost in their words. You then connect yourself and relate it to your life and it helps you through your daily struggles. For that I would like to thank all our musicians for sharing themselves and their gifts with us. Thank you for keeping the arts alive! For my contribution I would like to share with you guys the newest Soul Khan video "Fahrenheit" produced by J57.. Hot off the press. ENJOY!

Peep Baby Holla at the end aka the cutest baby I know!

LJPotter.

Soooo.. what do you guys think? huh? huh? you like it right? Isn't it glorious? I owe all my thanks to the wonderfully talented Miss Laura Jean! I gave her a few ideas of what I wanted and she completed the task and went above and beyond my expectations. She is a true creative, talented, beautiful Superwoman! Thank you LJ for all you do and your amazing digi stylez skills. ::Applause Please::

In regards to today, the new layout might have been the only good thing about it. I woke up with horrible cramps and nauseousness. I haven't been hit this hard for a couple of months and boy am I grateful for that. Anyway, my day consisted of squirming on the couch next to a bottle of alieve and a heating pad. I past out around 3 and woke up around 7 to Harry Potter (yes, literally.. he was laying on the couch spooning me and suri.) I have never seen any of the potter movie's which is absolutely absurd, I know. I read the first book and really liked it but that was of course years ago so I don't really remember anything. As I was half waking up and half still intoxicated from the handfull of alieve I took earlier I was like wow this shit is nuts! I can't stop watching it and now I want to see every one! Oh and there are so many gingers in it I feel at home ;) I soooo am a distant relative of the Weasley's! All this potterness reminded me of the beautiful LJ because I do believe I slept on her Harry Potter pillow case while Charles and I were having a sleeepover ;)

(The famously adorably cute Sir Charles chillen next to the Harry Potter pillow :)

( LJ and I at a Casmik event a few weeks back. Every pic we have we are laughing hysterical.. that's true friendship right there folks ;)

Hoping tomorrow will be a better day..

Mirage.

I am so excited!! Just got a preview of the new blog layout!! WOOOO! It look so unbelieveably awesome! I cant wait to show you guys the final product! Sorry so many exclamations but thats how excited I am! Anywho..For the past couple of days I havent been able to get this song out of my head and then I finally decided I needed to see the video for it. Of course I had to get up and dance but as I looked back at the screen to watch Rihanna do her thing I noticed that, if my "new" blog layout had a video it would so be this one. Rihanna is rocking a bunch of different decades through her style and I am loving it. A mix of 70's with 80's with the classic 90's grunge. Is this my new theme song for "brooklynista"? I think so!!
But I don't want to give to much away about the new layout for it shall be a surprise!! Mwahaha!

Oh, and I also came up with some new lyrics for the song.

"You gotta make her feel, like she's the cutest dog in the world..
Yes Suri's the cutest dog in the worlddd..
Like she the fuckin' cutest there isss....
Cutest dog in the wooorrlllllddd......"

CoclicoBoots.

Now that the fall weather has semi arrived its time to pull out those boots ladies! There are tons of different styles out there depending on what your personal style is. Are you classic? Rockstar? Trendy? Girlie Girl? Either or I feel like all of these boots can be paired into each of those "personalities". I have recently become a shoe whore so I own pretty much all the styles, except one that I am dieng for. I have to pace myself though. As you can see below I'm trying to save for a damn wedding which mean "MICHELE, STOP BUYING SHOES!"

Damona in Black. This sexy over the knee boot can be folded down to go under knee as well. Amazinly soft leather. It also has a bit of wedge in there to give some extra support and more of a "WOW" factor!
Farran available in Grey @ Kaight. My #1 on my wish list!
Titania in brown- now available at Kaightshop.com for 15% off using coupon code "Lust" at checkout.

All of these gorgeous boots are Coclico's. Coclico's designs are absolute perfection and they continue to make efforts to be more environmentally conscious. While the company does use leather, they encourage better tanning practices by pressure within the industry and by using vegetable tanned leathers, with tanning agents derived from bark, fruit, and seeds. They also use local sources close to the factory where their shoes are made in Spain, in an effort to reduce their carbon footprint. The wood used in their shoes is sustainably harvested under Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification. And much of their hardware is lead-free and nickel free and many of it is sourced from recycled metals. Meanwhile, the majority of the foam in their socks is recycled PU with crushed olive pits (indigenous to the area where the foam is recycled) for its anti-microbial properties. Now that is a beautiful shoe!

Ciao!

VenueTalk.

As you guys know I went to go check out a wedding venue with the fabulous LJ around the time of the closing of Fat Beats. It has taken us sometime to get on the comp and upload the pics and all the nonsense that goes along with that. I mean what do you expect from 2 fabulous fashionable woman.. We will just go with the saying "We are fashionably late" anyway. Between the both of us and fashion week, all the rif raf that follows and her busy fabulous career we are still working on the blog as well, but don't worry we will be done soon I promise! Anyway back to the project at hand that was accomplished! The venue is a beautiful (please hold.. jimmy just came running in the room laughing because Suri tripped over her stairs and fell on her ass, now she is barking at him saying "Shut up asshole, I will beat your ass". They are so damn loud I cant concentrate!) OK! SO! The venue is Ah-Maze-Ing! When I first talked with LJ about what type of venue I wanted and where I wanted it, I said these 3 things.. water, city skyline, and Brooklyn. I got it all. What's even more of a plus is that it is 100% Italian which makes Jimmy love it even more! Gabagool! LJ and I were so in love we decided to stay and have dinner and ya know test the food, and of course the drinks as well ;) De-freakin-lish. WOW, we ate like the queens we are, drank the most sensational red wine, and watched the sun set behind the skyline. Yes, it was the most romantic date I think we both have ever been on and we did fall in love ;) After 2-3 glasses of wine, a tummy full of ravioli, and my eyes in pure awe I decided that we will not be looking any further for we have found our perfect venue!! (OH! and another huge sign, they were setting up for a wedding upstairs and they had peach everything aka the color I want and my mom's fav. color.. its sooo meant to be :)

What do you guys think?

LuckyinLucky.

Check us out in Lucky's November issue.. She thinks we're sweet ;) ::blushing::

StudyThis.

With fall arriving at the moment, I decided it would be perfect timing for me to post what I have been lusting over for the past couple of months or so. To me trends are a big part of my purchase, but of course, not without the debate will I want to wear this next fall, will I still be stylish, is the quality enough last me the next 5 years? Just recently I purchased the most heavenly of all sweaters. It's called the envelope sweater by STUDY. Tara St. James is one of the most creative designers in my mind. The way shes manipulates the fabric into a beautifully draped garment and most of her pieces have more than one way to wear it (which is always a plus!). With that being said you are getting 4 different garments with one piece of fabric. Now tell me that isn't cool? Ok, back on track, the envelope sweater.... We had it last year and it sold out, we reordered and it sold out again. To me dismay we sold out to quick for me to snatch one for myself. This year I wasn't going to let that happen again! I bought the sweater maybe a week ago and wore it 3 times already.. For me that's a record! It is my favorite statement piece at the moment and I have gotten tons of compliments on it (which is also a plus). I actually am wearing it right now! It is versatile in the sense that is can be combined with almost anything. The first day I paired it with my Saturday errand clothes.. a t-shirt, jeans, and my red Toms. Second day I paired it with leggings, Alice + Olivia tunic (that Kate gave from a clothing swap :) and my Melissa black sparkle rain boots. Today I paired it with Serfontaine skinny jeans, flannel top, and black studded clogs. Next I am thinking a beautiful vintage dress, tights and my Swedish Hasbeens lace up booties. So many ideas and one perfect sweater. I am in fashion heaven!

Everything in the picture is available at Kaight.
Dream and Awake - Wild Horses Dress
Study by Tara St. James - envelope sweater
Coclico - Titania boots

There are plenty of other outfits to be pieced together with this sweater, so be on the look out.
Fri., Oct. 15: We’ve all seen images of the Gulf Oil Spill – filmy waters, desolate shorelines and blackened, lifeless animals — but what about the human face of the lives and livelihoods that have been destroyed? Inhabitat and 99% Gallery present Mired in the Bayou a provocative photography and sculpture exhibit that reveals the true human face of the BP disaster like no other media has done thus far. This exhibit explores several towns along the Gulf Coast that have been left in financial and emotional ruin as a result of the spill. Focusing on individual stories and oil-laden remnants collected from the coast, Mired in the Bayou portrays a sliver of a greater picture, revealing how our excessive oil consumption has led the way to a devastating, man-made catastrophe which has destroyed both the environment and the livelihoods of thousands Americans.

More about this exhibit, photos and a video trailer can be seen here.

Opening Reception: Oct. 15, 7-10 p.m., 99% Gallery (99 N. 10th St., Williamsburg, Brooklyn)

PritiGlamour.

Check it out! One of our most popular (aka my favorite color) Priti nailpolish made it's debut in Glamor's Novemeber issue. Its the perfect color for fall. Staying on top of the trends with out going over board. It has a the natural coloring with texture in it to complete the spot on fall trend. The natural coloring makes it more subtle rather than a color that screams LOOK AT ME, I'M TRENDY! We currently have St. Catherine's Lace in stock plus much more on the way!

MAtt&NatParty.

Kaight continues its "Shop Within A Shop" program with animal-friendly accessories line Matt & Nat. The Canadian-based brand remains a trailblazer in the environmental movement. Each product contains at least one recycled element and on average 21 plastic bottles are recycled to make linings for our bags. This season, the collection is based on a modern approach to a primitive aesthetic; beads and metal ornaments give each style an antique, yet romantic feel.

Stop by and shop the entire fall collection at the launch of Matt & Nat's Shop Within A Shop and enjoy a gift with purchase on any purchase of $150.
