What'sInTheBag?

Most woman can agree that our handbags contains pretty much our lives. If I ever lost my bag, I think I might have to be sent to the hospital and be under severe psychiatric surveillance. I shouldn't really carry as much as I do but I cant help it! I always seem to be asked "What the hell do you have in there?" or "You brought your suitcase out with you?" In this decade of fashion big bags were in, yes. They are still in, but my back needed a break. I decided to downsize the bag in hopes I wouldn't carry so much. Well sucks for me because I just pack the crap out of this one. My Erin Templeton. It's not a huge bag but damn does it carry a huge amount of goods. Since there are 2 different ways of wearing (shoulder and cross body) I don't really feel the back pain anymore hah.

So in this post I will finally tell all "What's in MY bag!" Here it goes:

1. "Are you there vodka? It's me Chelsea" - by Chelsea Handler
2. Inhaler
3. Wallet
4. Organic Lip Blam
5. Revelon Red Lipstick
6. Karen Walker sunglasses
7. Dentyne gum
8. Versace reading glasses
9. Fringe flyers
10. One Pog that looks like Suri
11. Milk Duds from the movies the other night
12. Germ X - hand sanitizer
13. Betsy Johnson case that holds my camera and Ipod
14. Stilla blush
15. Polariod
16. Bobby pins
17. Hair Clip
18. Rose Red's flower clip
19. Lighter
20. Finally, the cellular contact

See, no dead body's, no gross stuff, just the 20 essential items every city girl needs ;)
Always be prepared girls, always be prepared!

The photo shoots are back!
I always love when I get to play dress up, especially when it's with my favorite pieces in the whole store! The first picture I am sporting the brand spankin' new Edun Idris Dress. We just got it in yesterday and I love, LOVE! I paired it with an Erin Templeton bag, zipper bracelet and the "media bracelet" by Dirty Librarian.
The 2 dresses next to each other are Dream and Awake pieces. Most of you should know by now that these dresses make my heart melt. For those of you who don't know Dream and Awake pieces are all one of a kinds. They are all vintage fabrics from all over the world and reconstructed to make these individual beauties! The white/blue dress I paired with Melissa's and the Dean recycled leather jacket circle bag. The pink dress dress "rain" is paired with Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Melissa Lady Dragon III shoes and a LuLu Frost plaza number necklace. Pretty much each piece is a one of a kind besides the shoes.

Isn't that awesome?

Hope you enjoyed my photo shoot as much as I did =)

Seth&SummerMix05'

As you all know I am kinda obsessed with "The O.C.".. just a little bit. The other day I decided it was about time I went onto Itunes and used my gift cards from the holidays. I was watching "The O.C." as I was doing so and of course, one of my favorite scenes was on and I was like damn, I need this song. Perfect timing! I have been searching for the soundtracks since Jenna got me hooked on it a year or 2 ago. Never was able to find them, in stores or on Itunes. I was starting to give up and as I was doing my search for the song "Hello Sunshine" by Super Furry Animals and there it was! ::Hello Sunshine starts playing in my head:: OMG, YES! How on earth?! What the!? Where the?! So many questions running through my head but all I could do is click purchase, purchase, purchase. I bought 3 out of the 6 albums that were offered! Best purchase I have made in a long time! The mix's are amazing, great just to relax and rock out to. I have been listening to them all day, everyday at Kaight and I love it more and more each day! (figured I would give the customers a lil' present while they shop ;)
Anyway, I'm a lil in love with Seth and Summer so enjoy the photos! And what thheeee.. I didn't know they really dated?! Good Lord, I really need to start getting into shows when they are actually on air!

SurlockHolmes.

Yesterday was my day off so I decided to do a thorough cleaning. I took down all the Xmas decorations (FINALLY!), windexed, dusted, and swiffed. I decided it was about time that I stopped the madness of creating a mess in the living room with all my arts n crafts. It was then I realized I need to make a creation area. And that I did! Good thing I didn't get rid of the old vanity or I wouldn't have myself a cute lil' craft desk! You have your music studio Jim and now I have my own studio. It makes me feel like I am almost officially the most awesome person ever!
Since I was so busy making my lil' nook I forgot to eat din din. Not a good idea. Around 9pm I met up with Jim at Fatbeats so that we could go to the movies with Meg and Noah. Started to feel a lil' woozy on the train and I was thinking.. hmm.. this must be because I forgot to eat. Jim and I decided that we would "go in" on some popcorn and nachos, and good lord is that what we did. I am sooo paying for it today. Not a fun feeling. We went to go see Sherlock Holmes and I must say didn't think I would be into it but it might have been one of the first movies in a very long time that I didn't fall asleep in the middle of it! haha! All in all great night with great friends, scary cab ride home but we made it. Then for the rest of the night we called Suri.. Surlock Holmes or Sherbark Holmes!
Not Suri, but VERY cute Pup!

VivienneWestwood

So in love with these! My favorite color combo by far! The shoe comes in PLENTY of other colors, so don't be upset if this isn't your combo... I'm sure yours is out there! Obv. I have been in love with Melissa's since I got the mustard oxford. So comfy, trendy, classy, chic, pretty much everything you can want in a shoe. Melissa has done plenty of collaboration but my fav. by far is with Vivienne Westwood. I mean come on, how could I not choose her? Right now, we have the rain boots in stock and O.M.G. adorbs. ahah! I saw it on the website before we even ordered and wasn't to thrilled. Kate reassured me that they were 2010's "it" boot and WOW was she right. The perfect touch of elegance and trend. Perfect! You've done it again Viv.. and I thank ya!

The shoes are 100% vegan. They are made of recycled plastic! How amazing is that.. bringing back some childhood memories of me and my jellies and I'm lovin' it!!

The catastrophe that happened in Haiti is non other than that.. a catastrophe. It is unimaginable that mother earth can cause all this damage. My heart goes out to all the people who were affected by this horrific earthquake. These people need OUR help! Even though they are not close they are still our neighbors, still live on the same mother earth we live on, and most of all still our brothers and sister that are in need of help. There are plenty of ways to lend a helping hand, you can donate to numerous amounts of organizations by just a simple text and it will show up on your next billing statement. You can write about it, spread the word of where and how to donate. Become active in the world you live in, and please donate.. I have been loving this new thing were doing.. "Look of the day" for the Kaight blog. Maybe I am even more excited because I get to play dress up at work! How did I get the most amazing job ever? Just lucky I guess!! (frick, what movie was that from.. and after she says that she skips away or something like that?) Anyway, here is my latest pic...
: Lara Miller Amanda Wrap dress, $185; Cri De Coeur Stephanie boot, $340; Brave Clutch, $135; Yana Sexy All The Time Faux Fur Belt Bag, $185.

And there's the haircut. I am going to see my homegirl Amy the owner of Fringe tonight. I need to get some type of edge put in there. I felt as if Fringe would be the best place to go to get that edge that I'm looking for. The salon is so cute with a vintage 1950's feel to it. Another awesome fact about Fringe that attracted me to them was that they have artist display their work in the salon for a few weeks at a time. And just yesterday one of our dear friends at Kaight, Pal Shazar, set up a display of her beautiful creations.. and I will be ever so lucky to see them tonight. Pal's opening will be held on Jan. 28th I believe at 8p.m. @ Fringe of course. So, all in all I am sure I will absolutely be in love with the new cut I will be receiving. I will let you know the verdict by tomorrow! I am sure she will fix me up!

Then, after I get a cut, going to BROWN BAG THURSDAYS!! Yes folks, BB thurs is back and in full effect for the New Year. Come on down to Voodoo Lounge 1st street and 1st ave. in the L.E.S. Come get hammered and play with my hair. I love when people play with my hair.. who doesn't? OK, enough from me.. Toot-a-lou!!

Oh, and one last thing.. Follow us on twitter for daily news from the Kaight Girls! =)

Locks of Love..

I was in desperate need of a hair cut and have been itching for this one specific hair cut. I am obsessed with "The O.C." and right now I am up to the episodes where Marissa Cooper goes to public school wearing Chanel everything (not a good idea Coop, not a good idea). If it isn't enough to be harassed for being beautiful and rich, she always had a skeleton in her closet (this weeks one is she shot her boyfriends brother). Anyway that's totally not what I was trying to get at but felt the need to tell you all that.. Wow.. So what I am trying to get at is her HAIR.. So long and so beautiful. I brought in at least 6 pictures of this one style that I have been waiting for.
(look below)
I thought about donating before I went into the salon and I chose that next time I went for a cut I would do it. I was in love with this cut and NEEDED it! Once I got to the salon I realized how long it actually was and realized that if I did cut off 8-10 inches it would still be long. The hairdresser reassured me that it would still be dramatically long also. So I was like what the hell there are people who need it more than I do and it grows back. I said "as long as I have hair like that I don't care what you do." I'm not one to really care about the hair or cut I kinda just always go with it. Well I left the salon almost in tears (I waited it until I got home). It wasn't at all what I asked for and the only thing that is keeping me going is that it is for a good cause. There are worse things that can happen right? I must say though, this is the first time I have ever cried over my hair and it will be the last!! Good bye my long locks... hope you will give someone else the love you have given me.. till next time ;(

You will be missed!

** For those of you who would like to donate their are a few rules, hair must be cut at least 10 inches in a pony tail or braid, Hair that has been bleached (usually this refers to highlighted hair) is not usable. If unsure, ask your stylist. We are not able to accept bleached hair due to a chemical reaction that occurs during the manufacturing process. **If the hair was bleached years ago and has completely grown out it is fine to donate**

Scratch that 60% to 75% wooohooo!!!
We're feeling very generous this new year!
Lucky you!!
Do you all love my modeling debut? hahahah

BestBelieveIt.

I couldn't believe my eyes.. Up to 75% off of Loomstate, Kyumi, Mociun, and Samantha Pleet (non-organic line is sold to Urban Outfitters.. why not help the enviro and pay same price.. sounds good to me.. Buy her Organic line @ Kaight!),and that is just to name a few. My oh my, I MUST be in heaven. Well not physically in heaven but I am physically in Kaight and I am assuming this is what it must feel like. Well for me, (someone who is obsessed with fashion and shopping) a sale up to 75% off is heaven!
Kyumi oversized tee.. Orig. $140 - NOW $56! I love the neck detail on this piece, soft and subtle yet hard and trendy.
Mociun, I think we might be soulmates! This piece is called the River Cropped Top and I absolutely love . I remember back in the day when we would have Dress Down Day at school I always went for that grunge but pretty look. Ya know, the Flannel with the high rise bells and Chucks? This top I would sooo wear back then and even now which makes it a beautiful piece of art. I love how Caitlin Mociun combines grunge with bohemian chic. Amazing simply Amazing. Any who, this lil diddy was orig. $165 Now $66.. again simply amazing! Also, check out her look books the photography is unbelievable! What a talented group!

Just changed the new sale prices on KaightShop, So I'm guessing I will see u later or I will be packing your order for tomorrows delivery! Happy Shopping!

Product of the day

I recently decided it was about time to kick the ponds and all the toxins that came with it. I was then put on Yes to Carrots which I fell in love with (thanks Jess!). I first started with the makeup remover and it was awesome. I wear pretty dark and hardcore eye make up and it was always a bitch to take off. While using the yes to carrots remover it wasn't the chore that I was used to. It also didn't burn my eyelids and smell like I was just dipped in alcohol. Then I was like well since I am so in love with the remover I might as well go for the cleanser.. well for me.. not so much. The cleanser made my face feel like it was on fire. So I was in the market for a new cleanser and we just so happened to be on a beauty kick at Kaight. We finally got in the Juara Skincare line and I was pretty much in heaven just from the scent. "JUARA is a unique fusion of natural Indonesian skincare treatments of ancient royalty and modern science. Utilizing high concentrations of pure and powerful active botanicals native to this lush tropical archipelago, JUARA's effective yet safe and gentle skincare line focuses on maintaining skin wellness, while feeling luxurious, elegant, and sensual to the touch." I was skeptical at first and didn't want to splurge for the product until I tried the samples first. I used the Sweet Black Tea and Rice Facial Moisturizer and the Rice Facial Cleanser. Worked wonders, they had to be mine. I also bought the Rice Facial Scrub, love it. My face has always been very dry and I hated using moisturizer that would leave a greasy film. After a few weeks of using the products my face looks like it has my tone evened out and is soo smooth and can actually smile without my face feel like it is pulling my skin apart. And the best part is.. I don't look like I belong in Grease Lightening!! Thanks Dr. Zizmore.. I mean Juara.. it just seemed so cheesy I had to throw it in there.. =)

Hope everyone has a Safe and Happy New Year!
