I have this very odd obsession with planners and wristlets. I think I might own about 10 of each. Every time I see one that I like.. I buy on instinct. It's my own little weird addiction. Crazy right? Well of course Kaight has fed my addiction once again. Last night Kate came into the store with a bag full of goodies from showroom appointments and the trade shows. I looked inside the bag full of goodies and BAM it hit me..I was love struck. New JADEtribe wristlets and tote bag. I would def have all sorts of use for these wristlets.. like as a wallet, makeup case, clutch, etc. The patterns that make up these beautiful pieces are undeniably beautiful. I have been diggin' the whole gypsy vibe lately and I'm so hop-ing on that band wagon. So each piece is handmade, naturally dyed, recycled, sustainable and eco friendly. They have assorted beads, antiqued brass charm, and antiqued brass jingle bells at leather tassel zipper pull. They are a personal form of Art and Expression for our New World. Each one is unique in its own special way and a one of a kind!
Which is your favorite color?
Here is a little info on the behind the scenes of what goes into creating these ethical beauties.
JADE's story: she works with women from the Ban Nayang Village in Laos, South East Asia. They grow the cotton there, hand-pick it and turn it into thread.
They use leaves from the Indigo plants to create the Indigo dye and they use Bark from the trees in their village to create the Red and Beige colors.
Everything is done right here in this small community! The women rely on weaving as their main source of income, while the men in the village work in the vegetable and rice fields to provide food for the village. It's just an amazing story and the bags are absolutely stunning. You can feel the love, care and craftsmanship in each bag.
I personally feel that the combination of hard work and dedication is what really makes these bags unique. Learning about what it took to make this one product is indescribable. Hopefully others will love them as much as I do and we can help the women of Laos provide for their themselves and their families!!
wow...if only I wore wristlets...just the amount of sheer, tedious and meticulous crafts(wo)manship that goes into creating one of those is incredible.
